This is one of those books (one of many) that make me feel like I'm just not as sophisticated as I should be. Not bright enough to appreciate the full value of the book. That, or maybe the book just isn't as great as all that. I liked the writing but the jumping in time - all the flash backs confused me a bit at some points. At the same time that was one of the coolest things about this novel. Miss Brodie was a disturbing character, which was great. And then I just never quite understood what Sandy ended up doing in a convent?
